Day care kids share Valentines with assisted living residents

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Friday was a day to spread love and one assisted living home in Sioux Falls received some extra special visitors for Valentine’s Day.

Students from the School of Early Childhood Education stopped by Good Samaritan Society Hearthstone Assisted Living on Friday morning to share their handmade Valentine’s Day boxes with residents.

“We made the hearts with our thumbs, it must–oh, the blue went off my thumb,” said one student.

I think it’s just wonderful. We’re grandmas and nobody comes in very much to give us Valentines, so we like any of these little kids coming in for us,” said resident Mary Tunge.

This tradition has been going on for about four years and the residents enjoy it just as much as the kids do.
