Canton-based Atlantic Food Distributors to expand this summer into new Green facility

GREEN − Atlantic Food Distributors will open a new 150,000-square-foot distribution facility this summer.

The facility at 5571 Global Gateway in Green will feature “advanced cold storage, optimized logistics and expanded inventory capacity,” according to the company’s announcement.

Atlantic Food Distributors has been a family-owned and independently operated food distributor for more than 65 years and is headquartered in Canton.

“This facility is more than just an expansion — it’s a reflection of our commitment to serving our customers and community,” Stan Manolakis, CEO and owner of Atlantic Food Distributors, said in a prepared statement.

“As a family business, we take great pride in our ability to grow while staying true to the values that have made us successful since 1960. This investment strengthens our ability to serve our customers, create new opportunities, and continue our tradition of excellence.”

The facility will handle a broad range of fresh, frozen and dry goods for distribution across and outside of Ohio facilitated by the proximity of transportation, such as the Akron-Canton Airport and Interstate 77.

Atlantic Food Distributors expects the expansion to provide new warehouse operations, sales and administration positions but declined to share the number of jobs that will be created.
