VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) – Kindergarten and 1st grade students of Vienna Elementary School were in for a treat Thursday, which was also pajama day.
Andy Armadillo, the mascot for Texas Roadhouse, showed up to the school to read a Valentines Day themed story. Kids were able to choose between “Love Monster and the Last Chocolate” by Rachel Bright, or “A Giant Crush” by Gennifer Choldenko.
Kids overwhelmingly chose “Love Monster and the Last Chocolate” with cheers.
Layken Skinner, the Local Store Marketer with the Parkersburg Texas Roadhouse, said they love interacting with the kids and staff, and giving back to the local community this way.
Skinner added that while she believes this is the first time that Andy Armadillo has made an appearance like this, they hope to do more appearances with Andy in the future.
The story was not the only thing kids got on Thursday, as they also got little goody bags with candy and other items, as well as an animal mask.
After the story was done, kids and staff all got fresh baked Texas Roadhouse bread and butter, and some lemonade to go along with it.
Staff was also treated to a meal as another thank you from Texas Roadhouse.
