What’s happening at the Boston Wine & Food Festival? What you need to know

  • New this year is the Hollywood & Vine dinner, where each course is inspired by a different movie.
  • The festival also includes a variety of master classes, including ones focused on Champagne and rosé.
  • The festival runs through March 27th and features a variety of price points for events.

If you love wine, you probably know about the annual Boston Wine & Food Festival. Its events stretch over several months and are held at the stunning Boston Harbor Hotel at 70 Rowes Wharf. It’s the 36th year the festival has been held in Boston.

Wine dinners are paired with curated courses but there are also tastings and master classes.

Things are a bit different this year. The hotel is updating its special function rooms where some of the smaller wine dinners were held. So there are fewer wine tastings and dinners with 20 events through the end of March.

The good news from festival director Nick Daddona is that all events will be held on the water in the Wharf Room, where there are great Boston Harbor views.

New to the festival this year is Hollywood & Vine. It will bring iconic films to the plate and glass. A four-course dinner draws inspiration from cinematic masterpieces, accompanied with curated wine pairings. Celebrate the artistry of “Ratatouille,” explore California’s wine country with “Sideways,” feel the intensity of “Silence of the Lambs” and toast to the elegance of James Bond. The cost is $305.
