BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Toby Pentecost has been named the 2024 Store Manager of the Year for Food Lion’s Central Division.
This prestigious recognition highlights Pentecost’s exceptional leadership and commitment to the Scottsville community.
He joined the supermarket chain in November 1999. He now leads a team of nearly 80 associates who serve the community.
“Building that bond with the community and knowing that they can depend on us when they have a need is what’s most important,” Pentecost said in a release.
He is also passionate about making a difference in the community. He and other associates are recognized as vital to the towns and cities they serve, supporting community events and engaging in volunteer opportunities with community feeding partners.
“Toby consistently represents Food Lion’s brand, strategy and culture every day while leading with humor and putting customers first,” said Scott Libbey, Vice President, of Central Division, Food Lion in a release. “He creates an inclusive environment where all have one common vision, and he empowers each of his associates to grow both personally and professionally.”
Pentecost now joins five other store managers selected from more than 1,100 for this annual honor. The honor celebrates individuals who exemplify Food Lion’s values and ‘Count on me’ culture, per the release.
“Earning Central Division Store Manager of the Year was never something I even considered possible,” he said. “It always seemed like something you see that happens to someone else. It is an amazing honor because I know the caliber of Store Managers we have in the Central Division.”
In recognition of Pentecost’s commitment to the Scottsville community, Food Lion donated the equivalent of 5,000 meals to the Scottsville Church of Christ.
The donation, made in his honor through Food Lion Feeds, further shows the company’s dedication to addressing food insecurity.
