The 81-year-old Dallas Cowboys legend burst into tears after Fox NFL Sunday displayed a video honoring his coaching and broadcasting life.

Live at Caesars Superdome ahead of the Super Bowl 59 matchup, Johnson was emotional and turned heads with his comments after a tribute about his life was displayed on Fox NFL Sunday.

“I can truly say because of my family and because of ya’ll, I’ve never been happier than in this time of my life. Happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” he said.

It seemed that the NFL Hall of Famer Johnson could be ready for retirement after being a member of Fox NFL Sunday for the last 30-plus years.

Fans took to social media over the shock segment.

The video showed a recap of Johnson’s long football career during the pregame coverage of the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

After the segment, Johnson thanked his family and was asked on the broadcast if that was “goodbye.”

“One day at a time,” answered the 81-year-old Johnson.

Johnson won two Super Bowls as a head coach with the Dallas Cowboys.

Before his NFL coaching tenure, he won a college National Championship with the University of Miami.

He also worked at Oklahoma State and served in numerous front-office roles.

Johnson is a member of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the College Football Hall of Fame.
