Bungie is going to run an additional Contest Mode weekend for Sundered Doctrine, its just-launched Heresy dungeon, due to the 24 hour outage of PSN that cut the time to complete it in half for players on that console.
The dungeon flipping to normal mode means that way more people are going to be diving in, and as such, will probably want to know where to find its power crept weapons that are now some of the best legendaries in ages. Plus, its unique exotic that does some wild things. Thanks to BlueberriesGG, we have the full loot table, and I’ll post the specific list below:
First Encounter (Solve the Riddle)
- Weapons – Unloved Hand Cannon, Unworthy Scout Rifle, Unsworn Trace Rifle
- Armor – Helmet, Arms, Legs
Second Encounter (Zoetic, Lockset)
- Weapons – Unworthy Scout Rifle, Unvoiced Shotgun, Unsworn Trace Rifle
- Armor – Helmet, Arms, Legs
Third Encounter – Kerrev, the Erased
- Weapons – Finality’s Anger Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle, Unloved Hand Cannon, Unworthy Scout Rifle, Unvoiced Shotgun, Unsworn Trace Rifle
- Armor – Head, Chest, Arms, Legs
The class item does not drop and rather is from puzzles/secrets and I believe it may not be available yet, I have to double check. As for the existing list, you can only get the chest (and the exotic) from the final encounter, as is pretty standard. But for weapons, I hope you like trace rifles and scout rifles, as Unsworn and Unworthy drop from all three encounters. The hand cannon and shotgun are only two out of three, and one of those is the final encounter.
Dungeon weapon farming remains the literal worst farm in the game. You have to complete an entire encounter for a 1/6 chance to get the weapon you want because half the pool is useless armor, and good luck getting even a 2/5 with the main perks you want as the total odds are insane. Bungie has done a good job figuring out loot drops in other areas (this season, specifically, with its loads of Nether drops and the new Adept seasonal system), but dungeon farming remains outrageously awful with neither good paths for random drops and no crafting. I have no idea why they are not making this better as nothing even comes close to how bad this one kind of farm is in Destiny 2.
Anyway, the dungeon itself is creative and good, showing that Bungie is making these closer to mini raids than the way dungeons used to be (even if you can still solo them), but farming them efficiently? Forget about it.
