ADA COUNTY, Idaho — Ross Dress for Less retail stores are kicking off their 11th annual fundraising campaign to support homework assistance programs at Boys & Girls Clubs across Ada County.
The three-week “Help Local Kids Thrive” initiative, from Feb. 8 through March 2, allows customers to donate at local Ross stores during checkout. The Ross Stores Foundation will match contributions up to $500,000.
Proceeds will fund the Club’s Power Hour program, which provides youth members homework help and academic resources. According to the organization, every $5 donation funds a half-hour of homework assistance for one child.
“Hundreds of kids receive academic support each day at our three main branches and five school-based sites throughout Ada County,” said Colleen Braga, executive director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. “Your donation at one of our local Ross stores goes a long way in helping youth explore their educational aspirations.”
The partnership between Ross and Boys & Girls Clubs of America serves over three million young people nationwide. The retailer allocates 80% of funds raised at each store to clubs in the local community.
“Ross is proud of our long-standing partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Matt Young, group senior vice president at Ross Stores. “Together, we are committed to providing kids in communities across the country with the academic support they need to achieve big goals.”
The campaign offers various giving levels: $10 donations support college application assistance for teens, and $15 contributions fund science experiments for club members.
