GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A group of kids in the east can smile a little brighter thanks to an event hosted at ECU Friday.
It’s called “Give Kids a Smile” and is focused on improving dental care for children who need it.
Volunteers, including dentists and faculty members, worked together to offer services for kids who qualified.
The ECU School of Dental Medicine and the East Central Dental Society partnered to host the event at Ross Hall, the first time it’s been held there.
Dr. Michael Webb, East Carolina School of Dental Medicine says, “Sometimes the patients family can’t afford dental care or having an acute situation so we can take care of those needs so they can be out of pain, they can eat and go to school and not have any dental problems.”
Across the country each year around 6,500 dentists and 30,000 dental team members volunteer at Give Kids a Smile events.
