Konami surprised the world when it announced that a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was in the works for PS5. The developer showed off its impressive visuals at various showcases but never revealed when the game would be coming out. Fortunately, the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been leaked by none other than PlayStation.

The upcoming remake is set to be released on August 28, 2025, as seen on the game’s page on the PlayStation Store. We’ve confirmed the same release date shown on the game’s page on the PlayStation App.
It looks like Konami is getting ready to deliver the highly anticipated stealth-action game in late summer. The upcoming remake will modernize the visuals and gameplay systems of the PS2 game, which was originally released in 2004.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is chronologically the first game in the series, so it makes sense that Konami wants new players to try it out. Interested players can also play an enhanced version of the original title through the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, available on all modern consoles.
Snake Eater is set three decades before the events of the original MGS game, and follows FOX operative Bigg Boss aka Naked Snake. Much of the game takes place in the 1960s, focusing on stealth action in the fictional jungle of Tselinoyarsk, USSR.
PlayStation and Konami are likely going to officially announce the release date during an upcoming State of Play presentation. Various rumors point to such a presentation airing in the second week of February, so we won’t have to wait long to see more of the game.
